Anthony Giles
Born in Ramsgate in 1961 Anthony attended Hartsdown Secondary School before studying at the London College of art and design . He has spent most of his life as a 'paste-up' artist and illustrator for various publications such as 'The Lady ' and 'What Video' magazine and has produced illustrations for, amongst others, Hornby Hobbies, Scalextric and ICI oils .
In the early 90's the publishing industry became computerised and Anthony changed career to become a landscape designer studying design and horticulture at Hadlow College but his career was cut short in 2002 after a car accident left him with serious back injuries .
After undergoing two major operations he was unable to continue his career and returned to his love of painting the beautiful Kent coast and countryside that surrounds his home .
He is heavily influenced by the later works of J.W.Turner and those of Edward Seago, constantly striving to emulate the motivation that inspired these artists and to capture the transience of light on the land or sea to captivate his audience .
His works can be seen in galleries and collections across the South of England and California .
