Alexandra Bex studied at the Berkshire College of Art & Chelsea College of Art and Design, which is now part of The University of the Arts London

She then joined the film industry, and worked as a background artist for many of the major animation and TV studios in London, where she worked on a wide range of Feature films, commercials,and TV programmes. These included The Snowman, The Tales of Beatrix Potter,Heavy Metal, Spitting Image and many more......

In recent years, She has been committed to her own work and frequently shows at exhibitions, here and abroad.

Alexandra also works closely with Interior Designers, providing paintings for both residential and commercial properties.

She works in mixed media, often combining Acrylic, Oil, Watercolour & pastel in one painting. The initial inspiration comes from the powerful and evocative effect of corrosion and the heavy textures, left in it's wake. Capturing the abstract images and isolating them, by building up layers of texture in varying degrees of thickness. Finally, integrating them within a strong composition of line and form.
